Sustainability & Pedagogy – MA Students
SustainRCA works with students from all disciplines, guiding them to produce critical thinking around, and innovative solutions to, some of the most pressing social and environmental issues of our time. The interaction with MA students and the process is fed back into our sustainability teaching practice and pedagogy research. We do this in several ways.
TutorialsSustain Tutorials offer students specific support in developing projects, be it context, processes or materials. We also provide access to a professional sustainability network through Friends of Sustain. Tutorials run every Tuesday, 2–4pm. Email Lizzie Harrison.
SustainRCA brings together interdisciplinary groups to work and consult with local and global organisations, helping them imagine new and positive futures every year as part of the College's AcrossRCA week. See previous projects here.
SustainRCA works with programmes across the College to run workshops, talks and sustainability-related activities for particular cohorts. Previous activities have been run with Design Products, Textiles and Fashion.
Led by SustainRCA, the RCA is a partner of The Schmidt-MacArthur Fellowship – an international postgraduate fellowship on the circular economy for design, engineering and business students to help foster the skills and innovative thinking required to transition to a circular economy. You can find out more here.
