27 February 2014 | 6.30pm

Battersea, Gorvy Lecture Theatre

Free but booking required. Email: interior-design@rca.ac.uk

Konstantin Grcic, the Munich-based industrial designer who studied at the RCA is one of the most feted of his generation. He works with design world’s top producers – including Magis in Italy, Vitra in Switzerland, BD Ediciones in Spain and Emeco in the USA – to create fresh products which respond to new needs or materials. While Grcic’s best known products embrace the notions of functionalism and clarity to accommodate production on a mass scale, his limited edition work is exceptional in its depth of design enquiry. Grcic is a designer who’s unafraid to work within defined limits. For this lecture he will talk about virtual interiors, virtual reality, augmented reality and the increasingly blurred lines between real spaces and digital spaces.
