The Work-in-progress Show captures the movement of ideas across MA Interior Design Platforms, MA Architecture Design Studios, and MPhil/PhD programmes. The show takes place just as projects begin to emerge, but before they have solidified into fully fledged propositions – like an unfiltered insight into the design process, while the work is raw and not yet refined. The WIP show is a crucial first test in a process of experimentation that will continue for months, culminating with the degree show in June.
A multiplicity of approaches to research and design are presented here. The areas of interest are also varied, including: the re-use of existing buildings, new manufacturing technologies, housing and construction, obsolescence, standards and measures, as well as systems at the scale of the interior (or indeed, the planet).
The exhibition is open to the public by guided tour on Thursday 17 and Friday 18 January, from 10am – 3pm daily.
