Red Room

27 March 2017 | 7pm – 9pm

South Kiosk Gallery | B1.1, Bussey Building, 133 Rye Ln, London SE15 3SN

The Red Room exhibition features the work of 14 artists and designers from first year Visual Communication and Information Experience Design programmes, who have participated in a two term elective called Design Without. Experimentation, risk-taking and collaboration are at the core of Design Without. This has enabled a space for participants to explore their views, which have been varied and opposing, around themes of: ecologies and economies; social engagement; public vs private space; identity and questioning the context and connotations of the white cube gallery.

Red Room includes performance, installation, sculpture and animation. Each work in the exhibition has its own starting point and research basis, encompassing femininity; digital recycling; identity; mental health; social hierarchy and social constructs such as the Fear of Missing Out (FOMO).
