The students of RCA MA Writing invite you to the launch of our latest publication in collaboration with Flat Time House.
In October 2018, our class of over twenty writers was invited into Flat Time House, the home of the late artist John Latham. We gathered in the gallery, passing from the Brain to the Hand to the Body Event, each room of the late artist’s house titled as an anatomical part of a living sculpture. Flat Time House gave us the time and space to create the fifth edition of its journal, NOIT. Now, one year later, it is our turn to invite you to the launch of NOIT – 5. So, step over the threshold of Flat Time House, to hear our explorations of bodies as in buildings.
NOIT – 5: bodies as in buildings is a collection of essays, short stories, and images exploring what happens when the domestic, the home, and the body are alienated from their most basic associations and given new ones. In these works, the threshold between house and street, the distinction between the public and private, becomes porous and inexhaustibly complex. NOIT – 5 features works by students from the MA Writing Programme at the Royal College of Art and an afterword by Brian Dillon.
There will be refreshments, readings from contributors, and journals for sale. We hope that you will be able to join us.
