“Think outside the box.”

But how? 49 postgraduate researchers from the Royal College of Art MRes Programme responded to this question through seven interdisciplinary group projects, confronting the challenge of being creative when confined to the box of our homes. The Design Museum will showcase an online festival on these works (outlined below) from 11 July on their website.  From 24 June, each of the below projects will begin showcasing their works via the website or instagram accounts below.

Memory Collective (@memory.collective) invites you to explore a maze of memories constantly transforming, constructing, and falling apart.

Gathering, a zine (@gatheringzine) presented in tandem with fashion illustrator Sue Dray Gathering, explores the notion of 'body' through a number of perspectives.

The Balance Catalogue challenges our perception of the home in the context of COVID-19 by highlighting its paradoxes during isolation through defamiliarization.

Retool Box of Cards (, is a set of online cards with provocations and tasks, which facilitate creative collaboration.
