Intersections is a new college–wide lecture series organised by Innovation Design Engineering, that involves practitioners and researchers whose work intersect some aspects of the IDE multifaceted approach to innovation and creativity.
An RCA alumus, Tim Jones has worked in the innovation, growth and strategy arenas. He set up a networked innovation company, Innovaro, that quickly moved into identifying emerging opportunities for major organisations around the world. After selling Innovaro in 2008, Tim developed the world’s first open foresight platform and, with the support of Vodafone, in 2010 this undertook a very large programme across 25 countries that connected with informed people across different fields to bring together a clearer, shared view of the major shifts for the World in 2020. Future Agenda insights have since been used by multiple companies, governments and academic institutions to help stretch thinking, challenge assumptions and clarify new innovation opportunities.
The second Future Agenda global programme was undertaken last year in partnership with 50 hosts around the world. Running 120 workshops in 45 countries, over 3500 people discussed the key probable changes over next decade. The insights from this have all been shared globally via multiple online platforms and books and are again being used by thousands of organisations keen to better understand how the world is changing in these uncertain times and see the global point of view.
