Through his works, architect Antonino Cardillo explores the bonds between ancient and modern languages. His spaces attempt to synthesise diverse cultures: he interprets architecture as a way to reunite opposites.
Published across the globe, Cardillo has lectured at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London and his works have been exhibited at different venues, including Sir John Soane’s Museum, the Deutsche Architekturmuseum and the Triennale di Milano.
In his design for the Off Club, Cardillo continues the investigation of 'primordial images' that he began with his design for the House of Dust. United under the raw gold roof are influences ranging from the cinema of Kubrick and De Palma, Grand Theft Auto, Miami Art Deco District, psychedelic soul music, Escher’s perspectives, Byzantine iconostases and Japanese folding screens.
