  • Yuri Suzuki is a sound artist, designer and electronic musician who produces work that explores the realms of sound. Since 2015 he has taught on the Information Experience Design programme at the Royal College of Art. Suzuki has also taught on the RCA Design Products programme, and as a Visiting Tutor in Design Interactions. 

  • Biography

  • Suzuki was born in Tokyo in 1980. Between 1999 and 2005 he worked for Japanese art unit Maywa Denki, where he developed a strong interest in music and technology. 

    In 2005 he moved to London to study at the Royal College of Art.

    In 2014, the Museum of Modern Art New York acquired his work OTOTO, the DIY musical instrument, comprising of a built-in synthesizer and sampler, and Colour Chasers to their permanent collection.

  • Suzuki’s work raises questions around the relationship between sound and people, and how music and sound affect people’s minds. Suzuki’s sound art pieces and installations have been shown in exhibitions all around the world.
