Martin Morris

  • Martin Morris is an animator and draughtsman. His main area of study is drawing, alongside which he works in animation, motion graphics for advertising and music promos. He teaches at art colleges, including Kingston and Farnham, and creative agencies.  He also teaches drawing as creative development internationally for Ogilvy & Mather.

  • Biography

  • Martin has a BA in Animation/Illustration from Manchester Metropolitan University, where he spent part of his studies at the University Of Lapland, Finland, and an MA in Animation from the Royal College of Art.  While studying at the RCA, he was awarded three major drawing prizes: The Tom Bendham Figure Drawing Prize (First Place, 2003 and 2004) and The Man Group Portfolio Prize (First Place, 2004).

    After leaving the RCA, Martin worked for award-winning filmmaker and designer Run Wrake, contributing to several commercial and personal projects including the BAFTA nominated and multi-award-winning Rabbit.  He currently works freelance in the animation industry as an animator, compositor and storyboard artist on commercials, music promos and tour visuals. 

    Since 2005, he has taught drawing college wide at the RCA. He also teaches and has taught drawing at institutions including City & Guilds, LCC, Kingston, Farnham and Imperial College.

    Martin has developed drawing as creative development, running workshops at several creative agencies including Purpose, Start JG and Bisqit. Since 2010, he has worked closely with international advertising, marketing and public relations agency Ogilvy & Mather, where he has developed drawing classes to show the potential of drawing in creative development.  He has run workshops for Ogilvy & Mather in Rome, New Orleans, Sao Paulo, Wyoming and Las Vegas.
