Materials in their prefabricated state are all like different sets of building blocks to me, each of them with their own language. To find similarities, connections and new unusual combinations between materials and to create entirely new tools to bridge the gaps between them, is where the fun lies in my experimentations. I have always had a great affinity with standardised off-the-shelf components, and enjoy applying them conventionally or unconventionally in my projects. Since new computer-aided production techniques are now able to span from industrial scale into craftsmanship, my life as a designer has gotten just that little bit more exciting…
