My collection deals with incorporating tradition into modern day life by transforming amulets into contemporary jewellery. All my pieces are based on, and tell stories of, love, relationships and protection. By wearing my amuletic jewellery, I hope people can be provided with some warmth and comfort in their daily lives.
In various cultures, including the Taiwanese culture, amulets use red thread because it symbolises good luck, life and positive power. This, along with the simplistic and flexible qualities of the red thread, led me to choose it as a basic element for my collection.
Approaching - viewing, touching, wearing and experiencing my pieces - is fun and playful for the wearer.
