MA work
When a beam of sunlight soaks through my studio window I see trembling particles of dust suspended in mid-air. This quotidian observation paints an image of time where past, future and present exist simultaneously, drifting on the edge of chaos within the system we describe as the contemporary. Â My work deals with the aftermath of the temporal disturbances and traces the fallout of established historic forms.Â
My narratives are constructed around a kaleidoscopic timeline, which shuffles the temporary planes inside a work’s hermetic system. Intermixing processes, like a manual 16mm camera with contemporary digital footage, traditional painting with digital collage and printmaking, create the pretence of a presence of numerous distinct storylines and chronologies.
