The Third Panel

The Third Panel is an anthology held in three distinct

vessels and seeks to explore the different behaviours

intrinsic to the qualities created by three-fold thought. It is

important to note here, from the beginning, that these

mediations on the Third Panel do not sit alone, but instead

sit within a tradition of tripartite thought of a similar

nature but different name. Where for some, the third could

be represented as culture or as object, here, the third

appears as a panel not entirely unlike that of the artist’s

triptych, but with tertiary potential – to act as a spatial and

theoretical expansion, a complex narrative tool and a

mediation between two poles. The Third Panel resists

chronology and is not bound by the necessity of logic,

instead it is an abstract space created by virtue of cohesion,

mediation or addition in which matter or meaning can be

applied, discovered or created, feeding a spring of

complexity that nurtures organic production of thought.
