Corners of Interest

I’m a goldsmith who can’t escape my architectural and sculptural heritage.

I like materials. I make materials affect a function. Elastic string makes it possible to adapt my structures into many different angles. It helps pulling up a foldable corner. It makes my pieces collapsible and movable, adaptable to other spaces. Electroluminescent wire highlights a dark space, softens a corner, creates attention to a detail. I like details. I want people to pay attention to details so I make them attractive, adding on a transformation. I like transformation. The interplay between material and function transforms my structures to highlight and engage with an un-notable architectural detail. The combination of these properties makes it possible to make moveable large-scale space-specific work that changes an entire room simply by opening it up. I love that.
