'ORO' is a saliva-based monitoring device for prevention of obesity and diabetes. These two emerging epidemics are the result of our hectic modern lifestyle. The need to keep healthy either requires regular personal monitoring or getting checked by a doctor, while also maintaining good habits such as eating a balanced diet and being active. This can be challenging while living our fast paced lives.

The project began with two primary research questions: ‘What if you could easily and regularly monitor yourself instead of going to the doctor for a check-up?’ and, ‘What if changing lifestyle habits for health reasons could be enjoyable?’ Through addressing these, 'ORO' aids in the prevention of obesity and diabetes.

Saliva diagnosis is the key technology behind 'ORO'. Saliva contains a wide range of proteins, antibodies and nucleic acids, making it an important diagnostic fluid. The non-invasive nature of salivary testing has made it an attractive and effective alternative to blood and urine testing, while home testing kits have made it possible for people to monitor their health using this diagnostic medium.

'ORO' Diagnosis function is embedded in your electric toothbrush, so it encourages you to check everyday as you brush your teeth. 'ORO' becomes part of your daily routine. 'ORO' is easy and simple!
