Hothouse
a. an environment conducive to vigorous growth or development
b. cultivation of sensitive species

How can the local community survive when over- population, growing density and cultural diversity are causing people to feel a lack of belonging?

A close-knit community can both be a constraint and a comfort. As new pressures on housing and infrastructure lead to local mutations, whole new challenges of localism, politeness and boundaries are called for. I am investigating how everyday interactions, rituals and conflicts in a high-density, urban condition can be adapted to redefine the local neighbourhood and bring people together.
