Royal College of Art Fine Art, Interior Design and Architecture Talks in 2013/14
The Royal College of Art has an undoubted reputation in attracting incredible speakers. Over the years, students have had the opportunity to hear creative luminaries including Gianni Versace, Jean-Paul Goude, David Chipperfield, Grayson Perry and David Hockney. This year, the RCA hosts a number of free and public-facing talks series across Fine Art, Architecture and Interior Design, featuring some of the best-known names in their field. Meeting Architecture
Architecture hosts a lecture series organised by the British School at Rome in partnership with Architectural Review magazine. Meeting Architecture will feature architecture, art, film and music expert, analysing the nature of collaboration between architecture and other creative disciplines. Talking Interiors
Talking Interiors, organised by Interior Design will feature international architects, designers and writers from New York, Paris, London, Amsterdam and Munich who will discuss their practice, exploring the critical side of the discipline. Visual Cultures
The Visual Cultures Lecture Series by the School of Fine Art continues this year with focus on sculpture and moving image. Featured artists will discuss a single project, exploring all aspects of its production.  All talks take place at the Dyson Building in Battersea at 6.30pm. SustainTalks
SustainTalks, organised by SustainRCA, this year focuses on the bigger picture of sustainability, structures and politics, and includes a line-up of artist-activist John Jordan; former Special Representative for Climate Change at the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, John Ashton; fashion ‘hacktivist’ Otto von Busch; and the RCA’s head of Design Interactions, Tony Dunne.
