Ravi is design engineering academic with teaching and research interests in the areas of product design & development, technology management and AI for design.
Following his research roles at the University of Cambridge and the Imperial College of London, Ravi joined the School of Design to continue his research in Design Engineering. He is currently involved with AcrossRCA, Design Futures and Design Products as a Tutor.
He obtained his PhD from Imperial College London as a President Scholar. His PhD research goals aimed towards understanding product design innovation with the help of product individualisation.

Research interests
Dr Sikhwal’s research interests centred around different approaches of design engineering and aim to generate solutions for wider societal grand challenges through innovative design research. His research further aims facilitate the shift from traditional product design approaches to new innovative product design approaches where products are sustainable, adaptable, upgradable and fulfils users’ exact needs.
Emerging technology will play a very important role in this, so technology management for design is crucial part of this journey. He further interested in researching infusion of AI in different aspects of Design and how it can maximise customer perceived value.
