  • 8–26 May 2013: Adjacent Practice Colliding Daily

    Acme artists in residene, Ninna Bohn Pedersen and Rafał Zajko engage with first year Curating Contemporary Art students in an experimental collaboration. Two adjacent galleries in the Acme Project Space will be used as the artists’ and curators’ studios to test the distinctions between places of production and display. Artists and curators will be working together in the space for three weeks, unfolding and presenting work to the public as a continuous event.

  • 14, 16, 21 & 23 May 2013: Bodies Without Organs Film Programme

    Organised by first-year students from Curating Contemporary Art, Bodies without Organs takes artists’ films out of the gallery and into the cinema in a series of four distinct screenings at Hackney Picturehouse. Philosophers Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari’s notion of the ‘body without organs’ will be explored with logics of intensities and alternative structures of the cinematic experience. Bringing together a variety of contemporary and archival material, the four separate film screenings will include works by Patrick Keiller, Laure Prouvost, John Smith, Arthur Limpsett, Shirin Neshat and Cyprien Gaillard.   • 24 May 2013: Joan Jonas in Conversation with Ute Meta Bauer, Dean of Fine Art, RCA

    This talk accompanied by a screening of excerpts from Joan Jonas' Reanimation will address how video and performance art pioneer Joan Jonas develops new work often departing from literary references and working together with various artists. Jonas will give an insight into how she creates the different stages and formats that form a body of work, focusing on her most recent project Reanimation. Joan Jonas is a Leverhulme Trust Visiting Professor for Performance at the RCA School of Fine Art during Spring and Summer Term. For more infomation visit www.tate.org.uk.
