    MA Entrance Requirements

  • Graduating from the Royal College of Art means becoming part of an international network of creative individuals who have shaped, and who continue to shape, the culture surrounding us. We would like you to consider joining this network.

    You will be assessed on your existing qualities (as demonstrated in both your work and in your interviews) as well as your potential to benefit from this exciting new programme. The assessment will consider:

    • creativity, imagination and innovation evident in your work;
    • your ability to articulate the intentions of the work;
    • intellectual engagement in relevant areas; and
    • appropriate technical skills and overall interview performance.

    You should have achieved a high-quality first degree in furniture, industrial design, textiles, graphics and architecture, fashion, sculpture, theatre design, fine art, film, interactive design and other creative fields. Evidence of intellectual and professional curiosity and a readiness to engage in a rigorous and demanding two years is essential.

    The key qualifications, apart from reaching an impressive level in graduate study, are open-mindedness, enthusiasm from the challenging, unique and future-facing Interior Design course at the Royal College of Art.


    Portfolio

    You should submit a portfolio of completed projects together with any relevant supporting design material. This must include sketchbooks.

    The College currently administers a bursary scheme for full-time students from England, Wales, Northern Ireland and other EU countries.

    89% of eligible Home and 81% or eligible EY students received £3,732 towards their  tuition fees.

    92% of eligible Home and 86% of eligible EU second-year students received £3,732 towards their tuition fees.
