There is a form of melancholia known by the Arabic word Kutabuk: an animal that runs back and forth across the surface of water and preys upon wanderers. In the pursuit of new experiences and phenomenon we offer ourselves up to this creature, as the present moves into the past and the moment becomes a memory.
Through a cataloguing of interruptions and dislocations within the landscape an estranged viewpoint takes shape. It enables
us to explore our perception of reality and the photographic apparatus’ role in mediating this.
