My work examines modern notions of free will.
Personal wireless technologies enable a wealth of possibilities, be they mobile telephones, pedometers or embedded medical devices, such as pacemakers. Many of these devices leak personal data into the environment, which I capture, manipulate and materialise.
I use professional actors from the first stages of the design process to create improvisational narratives that inform the early props and prototypes. By developing the characters and scenes, the work is placed in a rich social context and this is presented through film.
