Red Tape is a discussion series initiated and run by a team of Visual Communication students. In a bid to further understand and challenge contemporary practice, Red Tape provides a framework to discuss relevant issues and ideas that are reshaping the role of visual communication and its relationship with education, politics, culture, society, fiction and the future.


The Red Tape philosophy is: to bring together in a single space a diverse range of practitioners, educators and students along with theorists, technologists, scientists, anthropologists, writers, historians and activists.


It aims to further the conversation about the changing landscape of visual communication in the broadest sense: to react against a state of segregation; to bridge gaps in communication between students from the College, other institutions of higher education and the public; to create an environment that could stimulate a deeper reflection about one’s practice; and to further an understanding of others.


My practice has evolved into an explorative approach to visual communication, curating and organising events that investigate the cultural value of visual communication, its ability to question the norm and how it could suggest alternatives.
