Professor Susannah Hagan’s research straddles architectural history, theory and practice. Her written work examines the cultural antecedents and implications of ecological architecture and urban design, centring on the critical theory and practice of ecological urbanism. Her research-by-design addresses systems for generating ecologically productive landscapes for shrinking cities, climate-led urban design template, socially and environmentally innovative urban design processes in developing world cities, and the interface between flooding and urban design.
