    Innovation Night Talks

  • Innovation Night is an annual event that gives the Royal College of Art's business, academic and research partners the opportunity to meet the innovators of the future. Previous speakers include Apple's Sir Jonathan Ive; Chad Hurley, co-founder of Youtube; Sir James Dyson; and Christopher Bailey Chief Creative Officer of Burberry and a Royal College of Art alumnus.

Last year's event saw musician, entrepreneur and philanthropist will.i.am discuss innovation, creativity and education with RCA rector Dr Paul Thompson.

Will.i.am, who is also director of creative innovation at Intel Corporation, spoke passionately about his belief that creativity and education have the power to transform the lives of young people.

The audience, which included young designers and artists from the Royal College of Art alongside fashion and design leaders, listened as will.i.am shared his thoughts on music innovation, fashion, politics and future technologies.

As part of the Royal College of Art’s commitment to sparking interest in careers in art and design among young people through its school outreach programme, 20 students from London area schools were special guests at the talk. Participating schools included St Marylebone School, Westminster, The Grey Coat Hospital School and Park View School, Haringey.

Innovation Night is organised by InnovationRCA and supported by The Rumi Foundation.
