While continuing to produce and exhibit sculpture for over 25 years, Irene Gunston has been involved in all areas of bronze casting in Britain and abroad, working freelance for commercial foundries and assisting artists such as Barry Flannagan and Anish Kapoor. Her interest in the sculpted form and her expertise in traditional sculpture skills such as moulding and modelling have resulted in requests to replace ‘missing parts’ for museum exhibitions and works in major private collections, as well as expanding her own oeuvre.

    Biography

Irene Gunston was born in South Wales in 1960. She studied fine art sculpture at Cardiff and Canterbury Schools of Art and worked continuously in studios in London between 1982 and 2008 as a self-employed sculptor.
