Product life is finite. What if we design a better way for them to ‘die’? Instead of struggling against it, we accept the fact that nothing lasts forever.


Delab developed three different materials that approach this question. One of them, DeBoard, is a wood-like material designed specifically for temporary applications. It is 100% soluble in water, making it significantly easier to dispose of while being completely biodegradable. Particularly targeted at exhibitions, pop-up shops and installations, this material provides a real alternative to toxic, formaldehyde-based materials such as MDF and chipboard.


By applying these materials to products whose lifespan is limited, we start to reap significant economic and environmental benefits.
