My aim is to create embellished textile extravagances for couture garments that excite the senses of the wearer and the observer. An exploration of human body forms, in particular muscle formation, skin scarification of Africa and Maori tribe tattoos, have provided the stimulus for my collection and influenced my development of experimental techniques. By combining sumptuous hand and machine embroidery with elaborate beading, including my own hand-crafted glass beads, I aim to decorate the surface of the garments and manipulate the structure of the fabrics so that they mould to the body.
