Going to the toilet and ‘poop’ is very natural for people with a fully functioning body. But a person with a Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) may experience great difficulties in meeting the basic need of getting rid of bodily waste. Thus, bowel management is needed in order to keep life in control.


As some of the commonly performed bowel management processes require finger insertion into the anus, they can be fairly unpleasant. This project aims to design tools for easier, more dignified bowel management, thus improving the quality of life for people with SCI.
