Craftsmanship plays an important role both in contemporary industry and in my current practice.


My work focuses on weave as an ideal example of this synthesis. As a process, it provides great tensile strength for its modest weight, being strong enough to support itself and other objects. Utilising 2D textiles, I create large, self-supporting 3D forms, without the need for additional frames. The open structure of weaving also has a visual translucency, which does not disrupt the field of vision. As such, it naturally harmonises with any environment.


My woven work is designed with the utmost sophistication, celebrating the refinement of contemporary craft.
