Britain’s Longest Pier, Smallest Pub and Deepest Hole.

The privileged global identity of the UK as a nation of 291 inhabited islands holds the coastline in the balance of pleasure and defence. With economic cuts come radical changes to ‘Britain’s Independent Nuclear Deterrent’. Britannia no longer rules the waves. Following explosions at Japan’s Fukushima Daiichi, the renaissance of the UK’s nuclear power is in doubt. In order to re-build confidence and pride in nuclear safety, East Tilbury, on the deprived coastline of London’s Thames Gateway, is to be exploited with pleasure attractions salvaged from declining nuclear ordnance.
