Is jewellery more important than clothes?
My work seeks to explore this question through an interrogation of the emotional and visual tensions created when lines and surfaces envelop the body. The pieces I create attempt to blur the distinction between functionality in clothing and jewellery as adornment, and offer opportunities to examine notions of materiality. In a situation in which fabric and metal are used in a specific attempt to break down the conventional distinctions we make between clothes and jewellery, what is seen and understood — and the feelings evolving from this experience — are of the utmost importance.
