The work developed for this collection stems from the designer’s interest in the relationship between material processes and object typologies. By examining nuances within the industrial slip-casting process, a new functional and decorative language unfolds through maximising the inherent qualities of casting and pouring. The result is dually intriguing in formal material development and visual indication of anthropological, functional objects. Here the process is shown in several applications, using bone china, porcelain and metal; these range from novelty tabletop display and serving pieces to production tableware suitable for the restaurant industry.
