    AlumniRCA Scholarship Update

  • Hearing so many wonderful stories at Alumni Reunion emphasised the importance of helping the next generation of RCA students enjoy similar College experiences. With dwindling funding from Government we don't want the RCA to become the preserve of only the rich. It must be exclusively for the most talented, regardless of the wealth of their parents. To achieve that goal we've created the AlumniRCA Scholarship fund, and we need your support to build it up. The changing landscape of higher education funding in the UK has meant that 2012/13 Home & EU fees are £9,000 per year, while Overseas students’ fees £26,900 per year.

Students who are offered places at the RCA have typically already spent three years at university, and are coming to us with substantial student debts and little or no source of income, including no parental support. This demonstrates their total commitment to furthering their education and careers.

Almost all our alumni benefited from an era when government helped with the fees and provided generous funding to the college. Those days are now gone. If we, as the beneficiaries of a very different era aren't ready to help the next generation, then who else would?
