The Bradford-born artist beat Paul Noble, whose illustrative style made him the bookmakers' favorite, fellow RCA alumna (MA Painting 2002) Spartacus Chetwynd, and video artist Luke Fowler.

Price graduated with an MA in Constructed Textiles from the RCA in 1991 and also worked as a tutor in the School of Fine Art between 2007–11.

Alumna Sophia Webster (MA Fashion Womenswear, 2010), has just released her debut shoe collection. Two years after working with shoe-designer Nicholas Kirkwood her collection is full of neon-striped heels and polka-dot clutches inspired (and named) after women including Yayoi Kusama and Azealia Banks.
