Karolina Glusiec (MA Animation, 2012) has been awarded first prize at the Jerwood Drawing Prize 2012 for her hand-drawn animation Velocity. She comments: ‘For me drawing is the most sincere way of communication, and the most honest representation of one's thoughts and feelings.’

Congratulations also to alumna Ng'endo Mukii (MA Animation, 2012), who has won best animated film at the Kenya International Film Festival. Mukii's film Yellow Fever is a personal narrative questioning identity and skin colour, and examines African feminine voices on self-image.

Alumnus Daryl Waller (MA Communication Art & Design, 2003) has been commissioned to make a video for the Sensory Trust. 'Skin' is a poem by Joan Saunders (in conversation with the poet Karen Hayes). Joan Saunders has dementia and resides in a care home in St Austell, Cornwall. This video is a response to her poem.
