Michal Bieniek was born in 1980. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Wroclaw, Poland in 2004. President of the Board of Art Transparent Foundation for Contemporary Art (since 2005), director and curator of SURVIVAL Art Review (since 2003), head and curator of Mieszkanie Gepperta art gallery in Wroclaw (since 2007) and Art with the Past festival (since 2009). He has received several awards for young artists and curators in Poland: the Marshal of Lower Silesia’s prize, the award of Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the wARTo award of Gazeta Wyborcza. Michal is especially interested in art in public space in Central Europe. Research Student by Project (MPhil) at Royal College of Art, CCA Department since 2010.
