One billion people in the world do not have access to fresh drinking water. The global water crisis is highly induced by climate change. Bangladesh is one of the countries most influenced by climate change, and its population is in need of clean, safe drinking water. mywater is an appropriate low-cost technological solution for decentralised desalination in Bangladesh. There are many possibilities for centralised desalination, but none are designed to allow individuals to independently and cheaply desalinate water at home. mywater has been developed by InProgress, a multidisciplinary team focused on design and engineering for social justice.
