The connecting theme throughout my work is the re-examination of traditional processes, whether they be in manufacturing, use or application. I believe design is a thought process, and as such its output is universal rather than defined by products. As a result, my work is not limited to any single material, object type or use of technology.
Far from rejecting all traditions, I recognise their ubiquitous nature and instead attempt to systematically question them in order to ascertain their validity. I believe this approach should be the basis for a rational foundation in design, as it is in science.
