Historically, popular communication technologies have allowed us to speed up basic transactions, and helped people feel closer to their relatives. After the communication/information boom we have seen during the last 20 years, our understanding of reality has changed dramatically. Technology offers us a broad range of different tools to mediate our job-related tasks, information consumption and interpersonal relationships. We welcome new technologies as they bring us efficiency, novelty, progress… My work explores the impact of living in an ‘overtechnified’ society on the most mundane face-to-face encounters, challenging our perception of the importance of human interaction and generating discussion about the possible deprecation of real life.
