ADS4: IMMORTALITY
Can the monarchy use architecture, mass entertainment and the potential of space exploration to boost their decaying legacy and ensure their brand of Britishness will survive forever?
This year I speculate on a future British monarchy and its emerging involvement in housing, energy production and theme park culture, in a bid to engage with a modern public. Using a ruinous Windsor Park as a starting point, I use cinematic narrative devices and an archaeological sensibility to present a piece of ‘real fiction’, derived entirely from real-world statistics, which reveals the ultimate destiny of the monarchy in the twenty-first century.
