    King’s X Kitchen Culture

Cooking at home is ingrained in human nature. However, the individual purchase, transportation and storage of food consumes more energy than global food transportation. As the best connected transport hub in the UK, King’s Cross can become a new threshold between the global food network and the consumer.

A new typology – the public kitchen infrastructure – in the global food chain could reduce energy consumption and foster community.

Kings X Kitchen combines public kitchen spaces with the sale of food, a new centre for food growing and a new pocket of living space within the city centre.
