Onkar Kular’s work centres around the use of design as a medium to engage with social, cultural and popular issues. From the quest for domestic perfection to celebrity obsession, from reality football simulations to baking super functional bread, his practice ranges freely across media, each work taking the form appropriate to the idea, whether it be proposals for new objects, short films, events, performances and installations. His work has been exhibited internationally in London, Tokyo, Jerusalem, Rotterdam and Barnsley. Onkar teaches at the Royal College of Art and the London Metropolitan University.
