  • This project concept aims to use solar energy efficiently, and in a different way. It is based on the idea that the best way to get solar energy is from the sky, as there are no blocking structures like buildings or trees.

The floating balloon is composed with flexible dye solar panel and LED lighting units. Each coloured sector is a solar panel, and it gathers energy from the sun directly. After gathering energy, the electricity is kept in a charger; hence the energy is used to light the LEDs, and excess energy could be used for other purposes, such as street lights.

This solar balloon will light the sky with a diverse coloured pattern. It measures 7 x 7 x 10 metres on a stand 7 metres tall.

This project was produced as part of the Sunny Memories project.
