    Printmaking

  • Printmaking is a department that thrives on hybridity. We choose students who work in a diverse range of media to create an environment where the centrality of print in contemporary culture can be explored through making and discussion. These debates are centred around the students’ own work and the work of visiting artists, writers and critics.

The department is a space where the interplay between the drawn and the photographic, text and image, and the nature of the multiple can be explored.

Each intake of students re-defines the nature of print, which is in a constant state of flux as technologies die, emerge and remix. We aim to develop the creative potential of each student and equip them with the practical and intellectual skills to thrive as artists.
