  • Biography

    Tereza Stehlíková works as an artist, filmmaker, writer and an associate lecturer in animation. She co-edits Artesian, a bi-annual journal concerned with creativity in art and life, published by Go Together Press (www.gotogetherpress.com). Her films have been shown in various international film festivals and her short documentary on the life of Czech and Slovak au-pairs was made for the BBC 1 series Untold London in October 2005. Her music video for the group Lorainne (Rec 90, Norway) was shown on Swedish television. Other moving image work includes Fingertips, a collaboration with experimental musician Philip Jeck, resulting in a projection for live performance, and Golden Well with Jon Wozencroft, a video installation in Silo space, Porto.

    Tereza’s illustrated book for children, The Story of Violet, was published by Go Together Press in November 2007. Her short stories, reviews and illustrations have been published in Vertigo magazine, to which Tereza contributes as a regular writer and illustrator and FO A RM (New York), while her illustration work includes CD covers and book illustrations alongside design work for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

    Tereza graduated from the Royal College of Art  with an MA in Animation in 2001, where she is now researching the tactile language of the moving image as part of a practice-based MPhil.
