Heather Holford is tutor and project manager in the Fashion programmes and
is responsible principally for managing the industry-sponsored projects.
From graduation in 1972 to present, Heather Holford has worked as a freelance
designer/senior designer/design director for companies
including Jean Muir and Jaeger. She has worked in product development
and design management for Anne Tyrrell Design Consultancy, where one of
her projects was coordinating the design and sample production of the
new uniforms for the Dorchester Hotel.
She has also been visiting lecturer and external examiner at various UK
colleges and universities. Her role at the RCA demands active use of
her experience in industry, drawing on management, administrative,
creative and interpersonal skills.
Recent collaborations with industry include Dentelles Sophie Hallette, Umbro, Brioni, Esprit, International Flavors and Fragrances, Crown Paints and Bentley.
