Skene Catling de la Peña is working with Downie Consulting Engineers in researching the possibilities of developing a sustainable model for a large site (2 square kilometres) in an extremely harsh environment. Using a paraffin-based, heat exchange phase system, a ‘passive cooling labyrinth’, as the basis for a large scale environmental concept, the intention is for this model to generate the architectural diagram, and ultimately shape the experience of the space.
