  • The purpose of this fund is to assist UK disabled students who have a disability, learning difference or long or short term health problem with the cost of equipment or support that is not covered by a Disabled Students' Allowance.

    Eligibility

    Applicants must:
    • be a UK student for student support purposes
    • be able to show that they have a disability, learning difference, mental health condition or other significant health difficulty (long or short term).

    Applications

    • All applications to the fund are made through the Student Support Officer.

    Awards

    • Awards will be made to assist with the cost of course related equipment or support that is required as a result of a disability or health problem, but which is not funded by a DSA, either because the student has exceeded their personal DSA allowance, or because the support has not been recommended in the student’s Needs Assessment.
    • Eligibility for an award will be determined by the Student Support Officer, who will also decide the amount.
    • Awards will not normally exceed £500, unless a students disability or health condition requires a level of support that makes additional funding necessary.
